A website refresh is long overdue. It’s a giant undertaking to start a new website from scratch. Aside from a new design, the structure and focus of JeffMellem.com had to change. When I originally launched my site I had spent weeks on the design and had grand ideas for content (that I fell short on fulfilling). Other projects took precedent and the website languished.
With the nearing release of my second book, How to Draw People (that I’m very proud of, by the way), I decided a new direction was important. Since I read a lot of books, I thought I would use the new website to share some of the great art-related books in my library. Books that I find useful and interesting on topics that I feel would be worth your time. For now, I’m planning on one post a week - likely on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.
Beyond books, I also will be posting reviews of art supplies I use and I’ll also make an occasional blog post about a museum I’ve visited or other art related events.
It’s been a bit of a challenge moving from Wordpress with a custom theme to Joomla using Purity III but I think it will make for a more smooth and secure site. I still have work to do to refine and perfect the website so you’ll see some changes over the next few weeks as I sort out the design and fix any bugs that pop up. Hopefully, I’ll have it all dialed in soon.
Thank you for visiting,
Jeff Mellem
